Vietnamese ethnic groups (Miao, Hmong, Dao OJ, Tay and Giay), who inhabit the mountainous region of Bac Ha,  come to the market here in the village of Bac Ha for trading all kinds of spices, tobacco, food, fabrics and crafts.  The small village of Bac Ha is in the Northern Vietnam mountains, close to the Chinese border.

Live bugs and grasshoppers were just a few of the insects in the market in the village of Lua. This Vietnamese woman was removing grasshopper parts. I did not ask for a taste sample.
